Sewing Machine Troubleshooting Made Easy

Sewing Machine Feeding Problems

Feeding Problems

Feeding problems on a sewing machine can be identified by:

The fist thing to check for if you suspect your sewing machine is not feeding properly is the pressure on the presser foot.

If there is not enough pressure on the foot, the machine will be unable to feed the fabric through correctly.

Another cause of improper feeding is the build up of lint between the feed dog and the needle plate. To correct this remove the needle plate and clean all built up lint between the teeth of the feed dog. Replace the needle plate and test your machine.

If the steps listed above do not solve the feeding problem with your sewing machine, you may have to find a qualified repairman to assist you.
